Boring!

If it's not Lady Gaga, it's boring!!

Funny Stories

The Post Office

Last week I had to send a package. I thought I had enough time before pool therapy. I was wrong.
I thought I would try to not bring the kids in their stroller. Maybe they would behave better this time. (wrong).
I was trying to fill out a form and the kids were running around. Evan even laid on the ground behind some trash barrels. Four people cut in front of me as my world was coming down around me. I finally got them under control, was called up to the postal worker, but had to fill out another form. They bolted from me. I had to drag them back, push them against the counter, and hold each child against it with a leg and knee. I heard people laughing behind me. Then as if it can't get any worse, which let's face it, it's me so it ALWAYS gets worse, Amelia's pants fell around her ankles as we walked across the parking lot and she didn't say anything, so her pants are covered in mud. Oh well! So we went into swimming with no pants on.

The Library

Now I have had noise level issues with my children (have I!!), but yesterday they were perfect. Yes, finally!! No, this one is all me. I forgot a bag to carry the books in, so I had to try and get out of the library with a giant stack of books and DVD's (John is addicted to putting DVD's on reserve), while holding onto two 3 year olds. So I had the stack in my right arm and Amelia's hand in my left and Evan held onto Amelia (they finally do this). But wait, how do you get out two sets of doors?? Well luckily there were handicap buttons. I got to the first door and raised my knee to hit the button, then fell over onto Amelia, who fell onto Evan, who fell onto and tipped over a trash can. Of course no one helped me, why would they, people suck and I hate them. I held my head up high, re-arranged everything and everybody and tried again with success. It was just a learning curve. The second door was a complete success!!

The Bakery

I always tell Amelia, "Turn your frown upside down." I try to get her to laugh instead of throwing a pouting fit. That stopped working, so I told her to turn her frown sideways (upper lip to the left, lower lip to the right). She loves trying to do that. So we went to the bakery last week while Evan was in therapy. They have yellow smiley face cookies and blue sad face cookies. The lady asked her which one she wanted and Amelia said, "I want a sideways face cookie." Amelia was just staring at the bakery lady with her lips all weird looking. I was laughing so hard! Another "what is wrong with these people" moment, for sure!

Amelia's first haircut

Of course she sat perfectly still for her first haircut AND a complicated braid! John told me he wants me to braid  Amelia's hair more. Yeah, right, like she sits still for me. PLEASE!!

She chose a hot pink ribbon, of course!

A heart braid. She loves hearts, of course!

My Little Ballerina

Amelia couldn't wait until her first class. I of course was the obnoxious mom taking pictures and recording everything. Evan did go too. I was planning on having them both go every time. However, there was a table of Legos, so he immediately ran from the girls to play with them. That's fine with me, but at the end he insisted on joining back in when the girls were jumping. And then he wouldn't listen, was running around, and causing Amelia to not listen because she was obsessed with getting Evan in line. So John and I were running around after them. It was chaos. The mothers of single kids were looking at us like, "what the hell is wrong with those people?" I think I will just take Amelia next time, we'll see.

Here are my pics and videos. See what a tiny little peanut she is?? So cute. I'm getting crafty and making here different colored tutus.

Radial Aplasia Kids

For those of you finding my blog by googling "radial aplasia" or "missing radius", welcome! About once a week, sometimes more, I get a new person from somewhere in this world on my blog. I thought I should start a website where we can all find each other! Come join us, or I should say me, I'm the only on there so far! :)

Dreaming Big

Well no one told me that kids know what they want out of life so early!  As they approach their third birthday, it seems like their dreams get bigger every day. They are done with their little pre-school and are moving on to bigger and better things!

All of a sudden around Christmas time Amelia became interested in the Disney princesses and ballerinas. Princess ballerinas are preferable. Then one day last week she started asking to wear a ballerina skirt every day. Lucky I had a couple of random ones from old pajamas and outfits (18-24 months, but still fit her!). We are going to the Y for ballet next week (along with a bunch of other little classes). All she wants to do is wear her ballerina slippers and skirt now. She picked out black slippers and a black leotard so they will match different color tutus. I don't know how she got that idea, but she's right! I'm going to order a sparkly hot pink tutu from Etsy today.

They also want to be in a marching band. Evan has become obsessed with the trumpet. He's been playing one on John's iPad and when he saw a cheap plastic toy trumpet from across the drugstore, he tore his hand out of mine and ran to it. I always thought the trumpet would be perfect for him because you only need three fingers to play it. And I love the trumpet and secretly wish I would have chosen to play that. My dad and grandpa played the bugle, so maybe it's in the genes.  They have been watching the marching bands during televised parade season, and Amelia has informed me that she wants to be a "flag girl". Maybe I will have two kids in the Drum and Bugle Corps!

Last day of school, birthday mini-cupcakes!

What's better than ballerinas? Cheerleaders and ballerinas dancing to hip-hop! (Disney Christmas parade)
