Happy President's Day

Looking at Evan, I believe this proves that Abraham Lincoln was
indeed a Vampire, not a Vampire Hunter

I thought I would share the President's Day crafts the kids did in their art class. They made them the week before Valentine's Day, so I was a little confused when I picked them up and all the kids were using black art supplies. I was hoping for a Valentine's card to me or a paper heart chain or something. I look back on it now and chuckle because the older lady who volunteers to teach the art class (for 3-5 yr olds) is a little crotchety. Maybe red and pink hearts is a little too sweet for her. I do enjoy watching her run a strict classroom from the other side of the door, but her non-sweetness is probably why they don't ask me to go to art class much.

Medical Madness

It's that time of the year again. All these appointments. First, I should start off that Evan is a big, big boy. He's around 8th percentile for weight, 3rd percentile for height. Amelia is still "less than 3rd percentile" for both.  That was their 3 year old check up.

As for Evan, we went to Seattle Children's to the back specialist and once again the doc says he looks great. You can see the extra piece of vertebrae and the little crook in his back when he bends forward, but he holds himself up perfectly straight. We will be going back for X-rays in May.

Did I mention before that his heart looks good from back in October? I think I did, I'm too lazy to go back and look!

Next up is: 1) a trip an hour and half away to Puyallup, WA to a new occupational therapist who is supposed to be great at making splints for kids with upper limb differences (that's if our insurance allows us, still waiting to hear), 2) down to Madigan Army Medical Center just past Tacoma for a pediatric optometrist, 3) down to Madigan AGAIN for the pediatric urologist, 4) Seattle Children's for his arms and hands, 5) Seattle Children's for his back, 6) another kidney ultrasound. And let's not forget therapy 3 days a week!!

I'm tired, slightly stressed, always anxious, and suffer from worry lines : P  Oh, well. C'est la vie. It is what it is. Life is a bunch of chocolates, they are who we thought they were, yada, yada.

Limb Differences- Whatever!

I've always wondered, is all this therapy really helping? Three days a week?? Well, here are some videos that prove it does. He is learning to hold swings correctly and swim during his therapy sessions. Such a big boy now.

You have to turn up the sound all the way because I had it completely lowered while taking the videos. Sorry!
